A Race to the finish, but a break in the madness

This week has been and will continue to be a race to the finish. I have had busy days at work and evenings full of activity. Let me give you the run down of this week's past and future.

Monday: Work- At work I have been working on several major projects. I am planning an Executive retreat for our top 5 people of the company. The retreat will last 2 full days and I have to work out all the logistics. Also, our office will be moving to a new space in Fayetteville sometime around April or May. I am going to be handling all the logistics of this project as well, so I am trying to prepare everything as much as possible for that move ahead of time.
Evening- On Monday nights I am now attending rehearsal for a chorale for the Arts Center of the Ozarks. I have had 2 rehearsals so far, and I seem to be falling right back into the swing of reading music and singing with a large group.

Tuesday: Work- Same as Monday

Evening- This evening brought about a trip to the grocery store. This is the only night this week that has not been planned for something, so I had to make a date with Walmart.

Wednesday: Work- My day started out a usual, but lunch time brought about a great break for the week. We are in the middle of a snow storm. Not that it is a blizzard by any means, but here in Arkansas things get pretty hairy when we get any kind of winter weather. It took me 50 minutes to travel home which would normally only take me about 15 minutes. I saw several people sliding, one of which slid right into the back of the car in front of them. Both of those cars were in the lane beside me. Scary! I am now at home enjoying my afternoon off with Josh.

Evening: If the weather would have been good, we would have had life group tonight. We haven't been meeting since before Christmas because of the end of the semester. I am ready to get back together with all the other young married couples and fellowship.

Thursday: Work- I will probably go in late tomorrow if we continue to get a bunch of snow. I don't like to travel in and have to compete with the other drivers. I am sorry, but Arkansas drivers really don't do well in winter weather driving conditions. I suspect it will be a typical day.

Evening- My evening will be comprised of a trip to the bank, and Praise & Worship practice.

Friday: Work- I will probably have a busy Friday. That seems to be the norm lately.

Evening- We have been invited to some friends house for dinner this night. It looks to be a pretty fun filled evening.

Saturday: Shopping will be in the cards for me on Saturday. I am looking for a few new nice work/church outfits. That evening we are having something called InSPAration for our women at KPC. It will be an evening of spa services, relaxation, good food, and great conversation.

Sunday: The day is going to be a busy one. 2 services at KPC. I will be there from 7:45am until around 1pm. Home for lunch, hopefully a nap, then off to some friends house for our 2nd Annual Super Bowl Party. Go Colts!

So that is a look at my week. Goodluck staying warm.

My first video chat

Last night Josh and I were able to video chat with my sister, brother-in-law, my nephew, niece, and Josh's parents. I have never used a webcam before, and I must say it was quite weird. The picture was good on our end, but it was a little hard to see everyone on the other side because of the light from their ceiling. It was really great though, since Josh and I haven't seen any of them since Thanksgiving. My niece was a newborn when we saw here at thanksgiving and she has gotten so big already. We made my nephew's night by chatting with him. He even got to see Kafka, our dog. My sis, and bro-in-law have never been down to see us, so I gave them a tour of the house by walking around with the laptop in front of me. I am looking forward to video chatting with my family every couple weeks or so. Thanks to the church for purchasing the new laptops, which has enabled my family to see each other a lot more often than we ever thought possible!

Our new place (hopefully)

As I had mentioned in a previous post, Josh and I have been looking at rentals over the last couple of weeks. Well, we have one that we have looked at twice and driven by several times. It is in North Springdale. We are filling out the property management application this weekend to turn in on Tuesday. It is a townhouse that has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, one of which is off of the kitchen, and 1500 sq. ft. of space. We really like it. It is still really new, and the kitchen looks great as you will see in the pics below.

That is the great kitchen

Please pray for us that we will know if this is God's will for us to have. It is definitely the best "bang for our buck" and it will feel much more like a house than an apartment or duplex.

Chorale Singer once more

I have a wonderful opportunity awaiting me on Jan. 22nd. I will be joining a group of over 50 singers from around Northwest Arkansas for 15 weeks of rehearsals before a final concert on May 6. I am super excited about being a part of a chorale again. I will be able to meet new people, and do something I love... SING!

On another note, Josh and I are looking around for a newer, nicer, rental. We found a townhouse in Springdale that we really liked, but we aren't sure of the neighborhood. The place was great on the inside but the back yard was not fenced and had a lot of trash strung around. Not to mention a huge hole in the yard that was full of rain water. Other than that we were very pleased with it. So, we are considering that place, and keeping our eye out for others as well. We will probably have a good amount of changes taking place this year. We will be moving from our current rental, my office is moving to a new location, our church is going to 2 services, I am joining the chorale, and this year I will not be going to summer camp.

Sorry to all of my friends at Word of Faith. It is just not a good situation for our household to try and have both Josh and I at camp every year.

Well anyways, I hope you are all having a great year so far. I know I am.
