Josh's 30th Birthday

The Saturday before Josh's actual birthday we went to dinner with 5 of our friends. Josh isn't much for big parties or any kind of surprises for special events or holidays, so I kept it small for his sake. Among the guests were Tony, Jennifer, Matt, Jen, and Aaron. Here are some pictures from our dinner at Kobe.

This was Josh's dinner: The Big Tempura Roll- It for sure had spicy tuna, eel, avocado, and was flash fried. I tried one piece of it and I liked it much better than my California rolls I ordered.

This was Josh's b-day dessert that they brought out to him. It was funny because they turned on what sounded like a karaoke machine and brought it over to him. The music was so loud and we didn't realize what was going on until they put the plate in front of him. The dessert was a moon pie covered with a scoop of some weird green tea ice cream. Of course most of us tried it just because of the face that Josh made when he took his first bite. Wish I could have gotten that on camera.

After dinner we all came back to the house except Aaron to play some Dominoes that Josh had gotten as a gift from me for his birthday. He joked about how he was an old man now that he is 30 and enjoys playing games like Dominoes and Bocce Ball.

If you have ever been to my house you know that I have an oval coffee table that is only about 3 foot long. Well all 6 of us were playing Dominoes on that little bitty table. We got very creative with our "trains" to make room. We were playing Mexican Train style, so not only did everyone have their own train but we also had a community train (Mexican Train) to tend with.

Josh got some cool gifts from everyone for his birthday. Here is a picture of some of them.

In this picture you will notice a DVD. Aaron loves to get Josh gag gifts, so this year he bought him a Steven Segall triple feature DVD.
He also got some other gifts like these.

I got him 4 Pub glasses and 4- six packs of beer from around the world. Now let me clarify that Josh is not a big drinker. He is more of what I like to call a beer connoisseur. Thus the beer from other countries. The funniest part about the whole gift thing was that Tony and Jennifer seemed to be in my brain when it came to what to get Josh, so they got him some beer glasses and beer to go in it as well. Matt and Jen got Josh one of his favorite things to drink: Coca-Cola- a whole 24 pack.
Josh also got a Best Buy gift card from the KPC staff.

Thanks to everyone that helped to make Josh's 30th birthday a lot of fun.
