Waking Up

Weekend in Review

On Friday evening after work, our friends Shawn & Whitney and Josh & I went to dinner at a place in Springdale called AQ Chicken House. Supposedly, this restaurant was former President Bill Clinton's favorite restaurant. Well we didn't think it was that great and spectacular. After our "ok" dinner, we headed back toward the North and our home town of Rogers. We decided to go see a movie at our local theatre, MALCO. We were somewhat early so we stopped off at the Barnes & Noble to browse. Whitney & I went to the Christian section to check out the inspirational reading, while our creative genius husbands ventured to the magazine rack to seek out the newest design ideas. As we finally arrived at the movie we quickly realized that this is "the place to be" on the weekends for teenagers. I haven't seen that many loud, crazy teens since summer camp( there weren't as many teens, but they were really loud and crazy). We had decided earlier in the evening that we would see the new Will Smith movie, "Hitch". Well that was a great move, cause it was really funny, or at least I thought so. After the movie we all went back to our house to visit with Kafka for a few minutes before ending the night and heading of to bed. At some time during the night I was invited to join Whitney at a scrapbooking "Crop" session on Saturday from 3PM- 12midnight. I excitedly accepted.

On Saturday, Josh & I, of course slept in. I woke up on my own at about 11AM. He finally woke from his state of hibernation at around noon. I immediately began preparing a bag of pictures and scrapping items to take to the "Crop" that afternoon. I decided to began working on Josh & I's Wedding Album. Josh had to go and finish up some work for the church, so he got ready and headed off. I got ready and then Whitney picked me up so we could shop the Hobby Lobby before we began our scrap books at the session. We were there for like an hour looking at everything they had. If you like to scrap that is definitely the place to seek out supplies. Whitney and I finally arrived at the "Crop" session around 4PM and began working diligently on our books. At around 11:3PM we finally packed up and headed home. We had so much fun. I was able to get all of my pages covered with paper, so I can begin laying out my photos, and then adding embellishments to finish it up. Whitney got 3 pages completely finished.

On Sunday we had our 2nd service. It went well, Casey's message was really intense and seemed to keep most everyone pretty interested. We had a family day after service. We had inflatable games for the kids and fed everyone sub sandwiches, and pizza. I think we had enough to feed an army, but we ran completely out of food. Then of course we had to tear everything down. When Josh & I got home, we layed down to take a nap, since we had been up so late the night before. I slept for 31/2 hours. At 5:3PM we woke up. Whitney and Shawn had invited us over for dinner, so around 7PM we went to their apartment and had Enchiritos, both chicken and beef, beans, rice and chips & salsa. It was all so good! We played "Scene It" and taught both of them how to play Euchre, since they had never heard of it. They play Spades.

Over all it was a busy, but extremely fun weekend. I hope everyone had fun at the True Love Waits dinner, I enjoyed seeing the pics that ya'll have posted.
Love ya,

The New Beginnings

Yesterday was the 1st service at KeyPoint. It went very well I thought. Of course we learned what not to do next week, but mainly it was good. During Pastor Casey's message, I was looking around thinking "is this really only the first service?" It sure was, but we have so many things in place already that it seemed like we had been there for at least a few weeks or months. So Josh and I are now part of a new church. We had about 250 people there yesterday, including a bunch of people from New Life church in Conway and Maumelle, AR. We got to see Pastor Rick Bezet and his family, and that was really great!

I think Josh and I have found a couple that we can be good friends with. They are very down to earth, and we all seem to have a lot in common... for example, Josh and Shawn are very creative people (Shawn works for Wal-mart Home Office doing graphic design). Whitney and I are both administratively minded people. She used to do Payroll Admin. before she moved here on Tues. of last week. So needless to say we have enjoyed hanging out with them.

Well, gotta go now, I'm at work and I probably need to get busy doing something, well maybe after I have some coffee...

The Deal

Well, I have been at this work thing for almost 2 weeks now. I haven't been sleeping very good though at night cause of my back and neck. I wish I could just go back to bed, for an hour then I would feel better. I am sooooooo looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday. But we have to get up on Sunday to go and do a run-through service for KeyPoint. I am really excited about it though. We had our last meeting last night and it was cool. I got to meet some more people that will be a part of our church.

I have been kinda bummed out lately, I don't think I'll be able to come home in March for Jeremy's wedding, and have seriously been missing everyone. I talked to my friend Danielle last week and she is mad at me cause I wasn't able to say goodbye to her before we left Ohio. I can understand her being upset, but she didn't give much effort to making time to see me either. It would seem that our friendship may be coming to a close. That makes me sad since we have been friends for about 14 years. Yet I know that God puts people in your life for a season and they serve their purpose, then you move into a new season.

I would really like to come home to see everyone, so I would like for you all to pray that something will work out that will allow Josh and I to fly home for a cheap rate and stay a couple of days so we can attend that wedding and see ya'll. Alright I better get to work now. Love ya.

Snow Emergency

Today we are having our first "real snow fall" since our move to Arkansas. However, it is only an accumulation of about 1-3 inches. These people are crazy. All of the schools in Benton and Washington counties are closed, even the Court House is on a delay. It's like they don't know what to do when it snows here! I drove to work this morning and the roads weren't even covered, just wet. So here I am at work while all the little children are at home in their pajamas watching tv. This sucks. It's not that I mind being at work I just wish I was able to have a day off because of the weather, even though its only a couple of inches. Come on people we don't need to issue a snow emergency for a few inches of snow! Well have a great day ya'll. I am sure the snow will make it North very soon. Maybe some of you will get a day off too!
