calling all travelers
I pose a question to all the travelers I know:
My mom, sister and I are thinking of making a trip to New York City sometime in the spring. I was wondering if anyone knows tips, ideas, thoughts about traveling in NYC on a very cheap budget. Anyone know of a nice cheap place to stay? Free attractions?

"cheap" and "NYC" don't really go together.
Josh's stepdad is from New York I will see if he knows of some free places.
Oh shoot. I think when Nathan, Bobby and I went, our entire trip [including one ridiculously expensive dinner] ended up costing us $600 even.
We stayed in a seedy hotel in "Jamaica" New York, and we got subway passes for the weekend, which were a lifesaver. Really, its not that expensive at all. Just stay away from the big, flashy restaurants, and find those really cool hole-in-the wall places, which are cheaper and yummier! :)
